Cittaviveka Buddhist Monastery recognizes its responsibilities under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). This Privacy Policy (the ‘Policy’) describes the personal data that we collect from you when you subscribe to our hosted email platform and related services (the ‘Services’), how we use that information, and to whom we disclose it. For the purposes of the Policy, the term ‘personal data’ will have the same meaning as in EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).

• Data is only held about you in order to fulfil your requests and our legal responsibilities.

• Your active consent is required for us to use and store data, such as being added to the newsletter databases.

• You can request to see, amend or have deleted the data held about you, at any time.

• Data you have supplied is not disclosed to anybody who is not authorised and trained by the English Sangha Trust (EST: the governing body of Trustees), or the monastic sangha. It is never sold or passed to other organizations.

• We collect certain non-identifying information about the usage of the Services via cookies from web analytics, including Google analytics. This non-identifying information is used to analyse our website traffic in order improve the performance of our website and quality of email delivery and interaction.  This information is anonymized and is not used by us to identify you as an individual.

• Each email update or newsletter sent by us with have an "unsubscribe" link in the footer, which you could use to remove your email address from our subscription list.

By using the Updates & Newsletter subscription services, you signify your agreement to the terms and conditions of this Policy and to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal data as set out herein. You may change or withdraw your consent to the collection, use or disclosure of your personal data at any time by contacting the monastery in writing or by email. A change or withdrawal of consent may affect your ability to use the Services.
